Positions

Landscape Designer

Reports To: Sales Manager

Job Summary: Design Residential Outdoor Spaces

GoldGlo Landscapes, a State and National Award winning firm serving Central PA are looking to add a Landscape Designer to our firm. We are a family business specializing in residential design, build and maintenance. Our mission statement: To create and maintain distinctive outdoor spaces where family and friends relax with nature, build relationships and create memories.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design residential landscape projects
  • On-site meetings with clients and bring a collaborative vision to their home.
  • Conduct site inspections to determine slope, drainage, exposure and existing structures, features, roads, and utilities that will affect the project.
  • Create accurate designs including proper grading plans, layout, material choices, construction methods, ect.
  • Construction estimating and contract creation
  • Preparation of complete sets of construction documents
  • Producing project specific construction details
  • Knowledge of state and local permitting requirements and ability to create permitting documents to obtain permits
  • Site visits during construction
  • Represent the company at networking and public relations functions

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • This position requires a degree in Landscape Design, Horticulture or Architecture
  • Basic understanding of computer software programs including AutoCAD, Photoshop, Sketch up, and or hand drawing, Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • 1+ years of residential design experience
  • Excellent design and presentation skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer relations skills
  • Thorough knowledge of hardscaping materials and construction techniques for interlocking pavers, block walls, dry laid natural stone and low voltage lighting.
  • Thorough knowledge of plant materials and horticultural practices
  • Strong work ethic
  • Professional appearance and manner
  • Attention to detail, critical thinking and problem solving abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment
  • Creative but efficient
  • Loves to take on challenges

Maintenance Account Manager/Sales Consultant

Reports To: Sales Manager

Job Summary: Sales of landscape maintenance, enhancements and design build projects

GoldGlo Landscapes, a State and National Award winning firm serving Central PA are looking to add a Maintenance Account Manager/Sales Consultant to our firm. We are a family business specializing in residential design, build and maintenance. Our mission statement: To create and maintain distinctive outdoor spaces where family and friends relax with nature, build relationships and create memories.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generates new business and provides support to repeat clients with a focus on high end residential clients
  • Meets with clients to determine their needs and establish their budgets.
  • Work with the landscape designer to create designs.
  • Estimates accurate costs for the seasonal and annual property maintenance and enhancement contracts.
  • Develop client proposals and supporting data and obtain proper signatures.
  • Create accurate work orders.
  • Hand off the work order to production and/or the crew leader.
  • Takes proactive measures to ensure job stays on schedule and completes within budget meeting GoldGlo profitability standards.
  • Meets with clients regularly and generates any necessary change orders. Communicate changes to production manager and office in a timely fashion.
  • Conducts final job inspection (walk thru) with the foreman first, then with the client.
  • Submits accurate, completed, final job paperwork to office upon completion.
  • Takes responsibility for collecting payments from clients, both at job initiation and at job completion.
  • Provides a weekly sales activity report and communicates all positive and negative feedback at the weekly sales meeting.
  • Visits client’s properties to inspect for potential needs, problems and enhancement opportunities.
  • Works closely with subcontractors and vendors to provide services that GoldGlo does not perform in house.
  • Demonstrates commitment to professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment in business transactions.
  • Delivers excellent consistent customer service and continually exhibits strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to independently manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast- paced environment.
  • Improves knowledge, education and industry awareness.
  • Trains team members on horticultural best practices.
  • Represent the company at networking and public relations events.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Previous labor, nursery or landscaping experience required
  • Previous experience managing landscaping jobs and crews preferred
  • Knowledge in all phases of landscaping projects
  • Strong strategic and problem–solving skills and ability to interface with all types of mechanical and construction contractors
  • Excellent design and presentation skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer relations skills
  • Thorough knowledge of landscaping materials and construction techniques for interlocking pavers, block walls, dry laid natural stone and low voltage lighting.
  • Thorough knowledge of plant material and horticultural best practices.
  • Strong work ethic.
