Award Winning New England Federal Landscape
Completed in 2014
Over 7000 Square Feet
The client’s goal was to create a New England Federal style landscape to compliment their home. They wanted the driveway, walks and patio colors and textures to compliment the colors and textures of the clay brick house. They requested that the front walk extend into the yard to create a focal point. The client wanted a large entertaining space with a grill and large wood burning gas lit fireplace. Fire features were integrated into the columns on each side of the fireplace. They desired a wood burning fire pit with a seat bench and pergola. A very important part of the project was to create a beautiful Landscape that provides four seasons of interest with a focus on lots of color. The sand mound was disguised with a beautiful perennial garden that attracts birds and butterflies.
A high level of attention to design detail and the installation resulted in minimal difficulties in project execution.
Over 7000 sf of clay brick and interlocking concrete pavers were installed to create the driveway, walks and patios. The circle in the front clay brick walk creates a spectacular focal point. Large masses of plantings provide the colors and textures that the client desired. A post and beam pergola with three posts, circular seating bench and fire pit create an intimate space in the backyard. A matching arbor is the entrance to the stunning backyard entertaining area. The completed Landscape achieved the clients desire to have a Federal style home and landscape in Central PA.
